I was chopped in half after horror forklift accident – and everyone asks me the same stupid question
A MAN who lost half his body in a freak accident has revealed him and his girlfriend constantly get asked one inappropriate question.
Loren Schauers, 20, from Great Falls in Montana, has been living without his legs for the last two years after being involved in a horrific accident while working on a bridge with a forklift.
Now everyone wants to know how the construction worker and his girlfriend continue to have sex.
Loren was driving a forklift across a bridge when he veered off, plummeted 50ft and was pinned to the ground beneath the four-tonne vehicle, severing his forearm and crushing his lower body.
He recalled being conscious the entire time as he looked down to see his right arm had exploded and everything below his hips was completely squashed.
The young man then bravely made the decision to allow doctors to perform hemicorperectomy surgery – where everything below his waist was amputated – to save his life.
Despite the surgery, just over a month after the operation doctors still believed Loren would die.
However, Loren has come on leaps and bounds since where he now posts explainers and weekly vlogs on YouTube about how he’s taken to his new life admirably well.

Loren shares his YouTube account with his devoted wife Sabia Reiche, 23, who has stayed by his side through all his health problems.
Due to Loren’s mobility issues, Sabia has to perform many day to day tasks for Loren including changing his colostomy bags and showering him.
But despite the life the two have carved out for each other, people still pester them by asking how the couple have sex.
Loren’s operation led to the removal of his genitalia as his pelvis had been completely crushed.
He previously said that doctors had made efforts to save some of his sperm but decided it wasn’t “viable.”
Responding to the question of sex on a Q&A, Loren’s wife Sabia said the question was “disrespectful”.
She said: “A question we get repeatedly is how do we have sex and how do we become intimate.
“That is a very personal question that we are never going to answer or allude to as it’s very disrespectful.
“You wouldn’t ask a random couple on the street how they have sex and just because our life circumstances are different, it doesn’t give people the right to ask.”
The couple has been very open about the uncertainty of Loren’s life expectancy in the past.
Speaking on their YouTube channel, Sabia confessed that due to the severity of Loren’s surgery it was “touch and go”.
