Hello Friends,
Good morning for a paddle at Dee Why, but don’t expect to catch anything above knee high. Swell at sea was a 0.8 of a metre at 9 seconds from the ENE, so a knee high wave face was a big one.
Still, it’s a glorious sunny morning, so there is that!
The swell models continue to project flatness or near enough through Wednesday. From Thursday it looks as though we’ll go into a southerly regime on both the wind and swell fronts. Thursday morning could possibly see early energy at south magnets with okay wind, but by afternoon the southerly seems likely to on top of it.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a week ridge over the central and northern waters. North to northeasterly winds are forecast to persist in most parts today, tending west to southwesterly in the south as another trough moves through the region. A high pressure ridge will extend across New South Wales waters from Monday, with winds shifting southerly.

- West to northwesterly about 10 knots tending west to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots before dawn and reaching 15 to 20 knots offshore at times during. West to south westerly winds increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the evening and reaching up to 25 knots offshore.

- Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning, then decreasing to 1 metre around midday.
- Swell
- Northeasterly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre during the afternoon.
- Weather
- Sunny.

- Southwesterly 15 to 25 knots decreasing to 10 to 15 knots in the middle of the day then turning westerly in the evening.

- 1 to 2 metres, decreasing below 1 metre during the afternoon.
