CONCORD — A middle school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of committing inappropriate acts with minors, according to the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
Concord police arrested the teacher Thursday, according to a letter sent out to parents by MDUSD Superintendent Adam Clark. The teacher had been teaching at Pine Hollow Middle School on Pine Hollow Road, according to the letter, which was obtained by the Bay Area News Group.
According to the letter, police arrested the man on suspicion of multiple felony and misdemeanor counts “related to inappropriate acts with minors.”
Concord police officials did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment on Thursday.
In his letter, Clark said the the district learned of the complaints in March. Officials immediately put the teacher on administrative leave while the case was investigated.
“Please know that Mt. Diablo Unified School District will continue to do everything we can to provide a safe learning environment for all students, and we appreciate the quick response by law enforcement in this matter, as well as the students who have provided information,” he wrote. “The District is cooperating with law enforcement authorities to the fullest extent provided by law.”
