‘A score to settle’ – Liverpool’s Mo Salah sends warning to Real Madrid after Man City heroics as he eyes revenge

LIVERPOOL’S Mohamed Salah was in a bullish mood after watching Real Madrid dramatically book their ticket to the Champions League final.

The Spanish giants produced a stunning comeback last night with two goals in additional time against Manchester City to send the semi-final to extra-time before Karim Benzema’s penalty sealed a 6-5 aggregate win in extra-time.

That came just 24 hours after the Egyptian helped Liverpool to overcome Villarreal in the other last-four clash – meaning that we are in for a repeat of the 2018 showpiece between the Anfield club and Real.

And afterwards the confident Salah took to Twitter and Instagram ahead of the May 28 showdown in Paris to let everyone know that he is out for revenge after suffering heartbreak four years ago.

The 29-year-old posted: “We have a score to settle.”

Salah was carried off back in the 2018 final following a cynical challenge from then Real star Sergio Ramos that left him with a dislocated shoulder early doors.

The Reds crumbled without their talisman as a double from sub Gareth Bale and a Karim Benzema strike after a mistake from Liverpool keeper Loris Karius sealed a 3-1 win.

And now Salah has left the Kop end in no doubt that he feels he has unfinished business against the LaLiga champions.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was covering the Real game for BT Sport while the tweet was posted.

And the ex-England man loved Salah’s honesty, saying: “I like it. He’s forward, he’s fronted up.

“You can ask players and they say ‘Oh, I don’t know, I don’t care, I’m not sure…’

“He’s got unfinished business with Real Madrid. He obviously had to come off with the challenge with Sergio Ramos.

“So for him that’s something where his fire is burning, he’d prefer to win it against a team that beat him last time. Good luck to him.”

Salah had said the previous night when quizzed on who he wanted to play: “I want to play Madrid, I have to be honest.

“Manchester City’s a real tough team, we’ve played against them a few times this season.

“If you ask me personally, I would prefer Madrid. We lost in the final before against them, I want to play them and hopefully we’ll win.”
