I struggled as a single mum and became depressed.
Two years later I met my partner. He’d beat me and the kids, yet I still loved him.
One night he passed me his pipe to smoke.
I didn’t realise it was heroin but was instantly hooked.
It took me three years to get my life back.
My abusive partner went to prison and I got clean for the sake of the kids.
But they’ve always held it against me.
I’ve tried so hard to right the wrongs but nothing’s ever good enough.
My eldest is pregnant but she won’t let me see my future grandson in case I relapse – even though I’m 21 years clean.
She said she doesn’t want me to mess up his life as I did for her.
I’m heartbroken and feel like giving up on everything.
