Husband’s chilling messages to mistress before killing his wife by smashing her head on their basement floor revealed
A HUSBAND sent chilling messages to his lover days before allegedly smashing his pregnant wife’s skull in the basement, a court heard.
Cops believe Jennifer Rothwell, 28, was killed in Missouri on November 11, 2019 – a day before Beau Rothwell reported her missing.
Rothwell is accused of killing Jennifer.
As part of their investigation, cops scoured phone records and found an unknown number – which belonged to a woman Rothwell was having an affair with.
She came forward after seeing news reports that Jennifer was missing. She showed cops messages between herself and Rothwell, KMOV reported.
Prosecutors highlighted a conversation from October 30 during Rothwell’s trial.
Rothwell apparently admitted that he ended the affair the day before after realizing Jennifer was pregnant.
He messaged his lover: “I can’t focus or do anything productive. I’m in panic mode Lol. Jennifer took a pregnancy test and it came back positive.”
They discussed three options regarding the future of their relationship.
One option was to stop talking to each other. The second would see Rothwell admitting to Jennifer that he was having an affair, and the third would involve him leaving Jennifer if she miscarried or something happened.

One message said: “Part of me wants this pregnancy to not work out.”
Another read: “If there is a miscarriage or something I’ll leave her after that and be with you.”
Prosecutors alleged the word “something” implied Rothwell was planning to kill Jennifer.
The allegation has been vehemently denied by Rothwell’s defense attorney.
But, messages revealed that on November 3, Rothwell and his mistress had met up for sex.
Days later, Rothwell posted on Facebook that his wife was missing.
He said: “Some of you may have heard already, but last night my wife Jennifer went missing.
“I’ve filed a police report and the search is ongoing. Please, if you hear of anything or have any information it would be greatly appreciated.”
Jennifer’s remains were found in a remote area near Troy, roughly around 45 miles northwest of their home in Creve Coeur.
Gershom Norfleet, a forensic pathologist with St Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office, revealed Jennifer died of “blunt cranial cerebral trauma”.
Norfleet revealed she was struck at least three times to the head, Fox2 reported.
The doctor said she suffered the injuries before she died.
Norfleet said there was “no way her skull was fractured as a result of fists or a fall or an animal”.
Rothwell told cops that her body had been dumped along Highway 61.
Cops recovered blood and hair evidence from the basement of their home.
They also discovered bloodstained carpets soaked in bleach, reported People.

DNA samples from Jennifer’s parents matched with the blood found at the home, where Beau is alleged to have killed his wife.
Her car, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was found abandoned in a nearby commercial area.
