Inside spiraling Milwaukee violence that’s left girl, 13, dead & 10-year-old among injured in 18 shootings over weekend

A TEEN girl has been shot dead and a 10-year-old was injured as a series of shootings rocked Milwaukee over the weekend.

Cops revealed that ten shootings were reported in the Wisconsin city within 13 hours on Sunday.

A girl, 13, was killed while the 10-year-old is in a serious condition in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries.

But, officials said she’s expected to survive.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot, according to Fox6.

The victims have not been identified and the motives behind the shootings remain unknown.

Coroners are expected to conduct an autopsy on the teen’s body today.

Cops have not revealed if they have arrested any suspects as their investigations continue.

A spate of gun violence left Milwaukee reeling on Sunday.

A 25-year-old woman, who hasn’t been identified, was targeted just after 11am local time and two hours later a teen boy was shot.

His injuries are presumed to be non-life-threatening as he took himself to the hospital for treatment.

A 25-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after gunfire was exchanged during an argument near 80^th street and Bender.

Cops say they know who they are looking for but they have not arrested any suspects.

Officers arrested a boy, 17, after he was caught handling a gun when it was fired.

Two men, 30 and 24, suffered injuries after being shot hours apart in the city.

And, a 31-year-old was struck and taken to hospital while a 26-year-old is in a critical condition after being hit near 35^th and Hadley streets on Sunday evening.

Early on Sunday morning, a 41-year-old man was targeted.

Cops believe the circumstances linked to the shooting are robbery-related although investigations are ongoing.

Officers remain on the hunt for suspects as no arrests have been made.

SHOOTING TRAGEDY

And, a 23-year-old man was shot on Sunday morning and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Cops are trying to work out the events leading up to the shooting, according to CBS58.

Two people were killed on Saturday as several shootings were reported across the city.

Leah Davis, 19, was fatally shot near 66^th Street and Lisbon Avenue just after 6pm local time.

And, Lashont Stewart, 23, was pronounced dead after being hit near 27^th and Burleigh street.

Medics rushed to the scene but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, two men, 43 and 28, suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being targeted in two separate shootings.

Cops have not yet established the motives and have not arrested any suspects.

Two 33-year-old men were shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries in two unrelated shootings that happened over a 25-minute timeframe.

Officers have not yet identified any suspects as their investigations continue.

At least 62 homicides have been reported from January 1 to April 22 – which is up 48 percent year-to-date, according to city police data.

Milwaukee mayor Cavalier Johnson has vowed to “improve the health and safety” of the community in a bid to reduce gun violence.

He said: “The impact of violent crime is far-reaching and anyone life lost equates to generational trauma felt by many more people connected to the victim.”

Johnson added that reducing crime will take a “multi-faceted” approach.
