In what was an astonishingly embarrassing night for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes was humiliated by Jordan Henderson.
It was 3-0 and the game was over for Ralf Rangnick’s side, with all the players, coaching staff and fans wishing the hallowed Anfield turf would open and swallow them up.
Our No.14 was at his energetic best though and, after beating Marcus Rashford to the ball with a brilliant sliding tackle, he set to press the Portuguese midfielder next.
With the ball running towards the 27-year-old and him looking to be favourite for the challenge, seeing our captain closing him down was enough for him to panic and kick the ball out of play unchallenged.
It was clear that the sheepish reaction from the former Sporting Lisbon man was a victory for the Sunderland-born midfielder, who then laughed at how much he had scared him.
The pair shared a glance and the wry smile from our skipper was the perfect example of our dominance on a very memorable evening.
