‘Embarrassing, humiliating and disappointing’ – Ralf Rangnick SLAMS his Man Utd flops after hammering at Liverpool

RALF RANGNICK let rip at ’embarrassing, humiliating’ Manchester United like never before after their 4-0 capitulation at Liverpool.

The interim chief admitted United ‘need to rebuild’ and reckons they are ‘SIX YEARS BEHIND’ Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League leaders.

The Red Devils would have gone level fourth with victory but Liverpool blew them away from the start.

Luis Diaz and Mo Salah struck early, then after the break Sadio Mane and Salah’s second goal confirmed the home side’s domination.

Rangnick said: “It’s embarrassing. It’s completely disappointing and humiliating.

“We just have to accept they are six years ahead of us.”

He added: “For the first 25 minutes of the second half we played better. It’s not difficult to play better than the first half.

“We had quite a few moments on the counter attack ourselves but couldn’t make anything out of it.

“But after the third goal the game was over.”

And he claims his squad is only at the same level as Liverpool’s also-rans from Klopp’s first campaign in charge, 2015-16.

Rangnick said: “When you compare that Liverpool squad (tonight) with the one that Jurgen inherited six years ago – I think at the end of his first season they finished eighth.

“This is roughly where we are now with our current team.

“That this team needs to be rebuilt is clear.”

And with Paul Pogba limping off injured inside just ten minutes, he also hit out at United’s injury frailty.

He admitted: “This raises some questions.

“It’s now the seventh or eighth player missing out with injuries, although we are only playing in one competition.

“I’m not happy about that at all.

“Liverpool are playing in four competitions and have nobody injured.

“So this has also got to do with how do you train, what do you do, what kind of measures do you take to recover to be fully fit.

“These are questions that need to be asked – and answered.”
