Who is MasterChef semi-finalist Ioan Jones?
EVERYONE’S favourite BBC One cooking competition is heating up as we head towards the semi-finals.
Get to know Ioan Jones, one of the MasterChef 2022 semi-finalists.
Who is Ioan Jones?
When he’s not being judged by John Torode and Gregg Wallace, Ioan works as a marketing manager.
The 38-year-old was born and raised in Wales, but currently lives in Salford with his boyfriend.
Ioan shared that he comes from a farming family and community, which led to his passion for fresh produce and ingredients.
He said: “I am a keen traveller and look for inspiration from new produce, cultures and experiences from around the world.”

Ioan went on to describe being on MasterChef as “the opportunity of a lifetime.”
He added: “MasterChef has always been a dream of mine. I have avidly watched it over several years, always thinking “I will apply … one day” – and here I am, I finally plucked up the courage!”
Does Ioan have social media?
Yes, Ioan is very active on Instagram under the username ioanscookbook.
He has been keeping his followers updated on the cooking competition, regularly posting the dishes that he has created.
In his Instagram bio, Ioan says that he is someone who cooks “with passion and love.”

Who else is in the MasterChef semi-final?
The semi-final will consist of ten amateur cooks, all fighting for a place in the highly anticipated MasterChef 2022 final.
There are two more rounds of quarter-finals before the semi-final airs on Tuesday, April 26.

This year, the programme has taken on a different format as each week nine home cooks try to impress the judges.
The 18th series of the competition kicked off on March 30 with 45 talented cooks hoping to clinch the MasterChef trophy, which for Ioan is finally in reach.
