NEWARK, Ohio (WCMH) -- Newark police evacuated a section of Prospect Street in an investigation into a potential bomb scare.
Police said they were called to the 40 block of Prospect Street, a residential area, at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after a bomb device was found.
Newark police stated that two men were detained after coming out peacefully and that two potential explosive devices were found in an SUV driven by the suspects.
Police said the two male suspects in the SUV hit a parked car and fled with SWAT quickly surrounding a nearby house in the area.
Columbus Fire was called to the scene and will safely detonate the devices later, per Newark police.
