Pochettino addresses PSG future amidst links with Tottenham return and Man Utd
Former Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino has refused to comment on his Paris Saint-Germain future amidst links with Manchester United.
Pochettino has reportedly been shortlisted as a candidate alongside Ajax manager Erik ten Hag to take over from interim United boss Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford (Daily Mail).
Despite his PSG side being 12 points clear of Marseille at the Ligue 1 summit, the Argentine’s future remains up in the air with tensions still high after they crashed out of the Champions League in abysmal fashion to Real Madrid last month (Times).
The fans’ displeasure was also magnified at the Parc des Prince ahead of their side’s 5-1 win over Lorient on Sunday, with Pochettino’s name jeered as it was read out on the tannoy pre-match (Daily Mail).
Football Insider reported recently that Pochettino would jump at the chance to come back for a second stint at Tottenham if the position became available. The Telegraph also claimed Daniel Levy would be ‘straight on the phone’ with Pochettino should Antonio Conte leave.
Pressed on the links with the Man Utd vacancy, Pochettino insisted his future would be addressed at a much later date.
He told Foot Mercato: “If it is possible to stay at PSG next season? For the moment, I am not discussing my future with the leaders of the club. I have one year left on my contract, but it is important to analyse before making a decision and afterwards of course, we will also respect the decision taken by the club for the future. What will happen will happen.”

Despite the names and budget at PSG, the managerial position seems like a tough job to fulfil and Pochettino is experiencing that right now.
Granted they are no longer happy with just winning the domestic league and obviously want to claim that Champions League title, but they have massively underachieved in recent seasons.
United could offer Pochettino a reprieve from that, but they are in the need of a rebuild around parts of their squad, and the question is whether he would want to undertake that again as he did at Spurs.
