HAIR stylist to the stars, Chris Appleton has revealed how to make your ponytail voluminous without adding extra hair.
And it’s simple enough for any beginner and won’t cost you money.
All it takes is using your own hair, and you won’t need a thick head of hair to accomplish the look.
In a video shared with his 1.4 million TikTok followers, Appleton stated that it’s ideal for those with “fine hair.”
This method will require two elastic bands.
You split the hair into two and pull the top half up into a high ponytail, ensuring the ponytail is secured with your elastic band.

Next, you divide the bottom layer of hair into two, then wrap it around the top of the initial ponytail you created, tying it with another elastic band.
“What this is going to do is basically make you look like you’ve got double the amount of hair that you’ve got,” the professional stated.
Some social media users were thankful for the tips.
“I’ll have to try this. Thanks for sharing!” one grateful user stated.
Another person with the same sentiment said: “It works awesome, I look great, thanks.”
Noting that the model in the video already had arguably full hair, some viewers made jokes and requested to see a tutorial on someone with fine hair.
“Thanks, but I have 3 hairs,” one mused.
“Step 1: have hair,” another quipped.
“Her hair was already quite full with the half pony tail,” someone noted.
Speaking for many viewers, another added: “PLEASE DO WITH FINE HAIR!!! I have a lot of fine hair, not a chance it works! Fine hair would show the split, plus let’s see side view.”
If you’re not feeling a ponytail, no worries. Appleton also detailed how to get the perfect low bun in a separate TikTok video.
First you put your hair in a low ponytail, and in the last loop, you pull your hair through so you get a little bun.
Next, take the leftover ends and twist them, then criss-cross them over the bun.

The last step is to put a bobby pin in the bun.
You will be left with a regal-looking bun with minimal effort.
