Jordan – who passed away last weekend at 66 years old – was known for her outrageous makeup and Vivienne Westwood-designed outfits, which made her known as the face of the punk movement in the mid-1970s.
This leads to Maisie looking VERY different in the show, teased by a brand new trailer released yesterday.
Arya’s brown leather tops and furred cloaks are now gone.
In the Pistol trailer, Maisie sports a gravity-defying blond hairdo along with heavy makeup and bright clothing.
The trailer also features news footage from the era, which mentions the band’s status as antagonists of the British institution.
Maisie is joined in the cast by Anson Boon as Johnny Rotten and Louis Partridge as Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious.
Steve Jones will be portrayed by Babyteeth star Toby Wallace.
The cast is rounded out by Christian Lees as Glen Matlock, Thomas Brodie-Sangster from The Queen’s Gambit as manager Malcolm McLaren and Westworld‘s Talulah Riley as Vivienne Westwood.
The FX mini series will drop on Hulu on May 31 and while punk, Game of Thrones and Westworld fans alike are most probably excited for its first episode, one punk icon won’t be joining in.
John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten himself tried to unsuccessfully block the series in 2021.
