YOU MIGHT think that your bedroom is perfectly clean.
After all, how dirty can it really get?
Keeping your bedroom clean is more important than you might think[/caption]But the pros at online bedrooms recently shared why that might not be true.
When you’re laying in bed at night tying to peacefully drift off, you’re probably not thinking about the bacteria on your pillow cases.
But the pros say that you should be: “Spots like pillowcases and curtains are silent killers.
“Even though they might look fresh and clean, they are hiding a range of nasty bacteria that could lead to enhanced allergies, unpleasant odours and skin issues.”

In most spots around the house you can tell when something needs to be cleaned, but that’s not always the case in the bedroom.
The keen cleaners explained: “It’s no secret that germs live all over our houses.
“However, there are lots of hidden spots that we may not ever think about during our cleaning rituals.”
Since most of us spend roughly eight hours a night with our heads on our pillows, it’s no surprise that they can harbour so much dirt.
The experts claim that pillows can gather more bacteria than a toilet seat in just one week.
Although it’s nothing to worry about: “Luckily, the organisms found on pillowcases are largely harmless and are simply a build-up of skin cells, sweat and saliva.”
Despite the grim build being perfectly safe, the pros recommend you keep your bed clean by washing bedding once a week.
Your pillows aren’t the only place that can secretly harbour dirt in the bedroom.
Mattresses can be a magnet for dirt and bacteria, given that we spend so much of our time lounging on them.
The older your mattress is the more dirt it’s harbouring the sleep experts say, with yeast and mould being the most unwanted guests.
“As well as microbes, skin cells and food particles that are transferred to our mattresses from our bodies, a factor in making mattresses such a germ spot is gravity,” they explained.

You should also be aware of any areas close to your bed, like dusty lampshades on bedside tables and even the carpet.
Giving your bedroom a quick dust and hoover weekly can solve this and lessen allergies, the experts shared.
