Chilly weekend, more rain coming this week
Clouds lingered in the wake of a clipper storm that passed north of Ohio until late in the day. Temperatures topped out around 50 degrees, nearly 10 degrees below the seasonal average. Drier air worked in from the southwest toward evening with a bubble of high pressure.
Clouds will return late tonight ahead of a disturbance tracking east across the Midwest. A warm front will trigger some showers Monday, tapering off in the early afternoon. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, again holding readings to the low 50s.
Another storm system moving through the Southern states will bring a few periods of rain Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday. Southerly winds will boost temperatures back into the 60s.
A cold front will cross the state early Thursday, with temporary drying and cooler temperatures. An upper low will dip into the region Friday, keeping the weather cool and unsettled heading into the weekend, with occasional rain.
