The Lagos State Government will be diverting traffic from Kayode/Ogunmokun Streets in Mushin on Saturday, 2nd April, 2022, until 20th July, 2022, in continuation of the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line Project.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Transporation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, explained that the piling works along the axis will take a stretch of four months to allow the contractor achieve the desired results for the rail line.
Oladeinde, therefore, stated that motorists on Kayode Street will be diverted through Jibowu to connect Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway to access Ogunmokun Street, while those on Ogunmokun Street will be diverted to Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Ilupeju Bypass, to access Ikorodu Road for a continuation of their journey.
The Commissioner gave an assurance that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be deployed along the affected routes to manage traffic flow and minimise inconvenience, appealing to road users to make use of suggested alternative routes during the construction period and obey traffic signals.
Oladeinde also enjoined residents and road users in the State, especially motorists plying the corridors, to support the execution of the project aimed at achieving a seamless multi-modal transport system that will meet transportation needs of the larger population.
