Marvel's New Sorcerer Supreme Is The Most Dangerous Yet

Taking the mantle of Marvel's new Sorcerer Supreme has put Clea in a dangerous spot, as the hero's powers and mantles are colliding and working against each other. In a new preview for Strange #2 by Marvel Comics, it's revealed being the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth and the Dark Dimension simultaneously comes with a significant cost, as her powers conflict as she tries to maintain order against a powerful new opponent.
In the current Marvel Comics universe, Clea is the new Sorcerer Supreme of Earth following the death of Doctor Strange at the hands of Kaecilius. Strange passed on the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme to his wife, Clea Strange, who is making it her mission to not only assume the role but bring Stephen Strange back from the dead. However, her attempts to resurrect Strange have been thwarted by a dangerous new villain preventing her from doing so, as the Harvestman unleashed a zombified version of the hero Thunderstrike at Clea. Furthermore, with the new Sorcerer Supreme still holding onto the role of Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension, she's quickly learning her powers aren't working as one but dangerously conflicting.
In a new preview for Strange #2 (h/t Comic Watch) by Jed MacKay, Marcelo Ferreira, Don Ho, Java Tartaglia, and VC's Cory Petit, Clea's fight against the Harvestman continues. Marvel's new Sorcerer Supreme reveals that holding the role "twice over," on Earth and Dark Dimension is extremely dangerous, comparing them to "fire and ice," and "acid and stone." Clea notes there's a reason the most powerful magicians don't take multiple mantles, as their powers aren't intended to combine and do not ally.
Clea adds that the conflicting powers are warring inside of her, as she swiftly manages them from consuing one another when she should be focusing on fighting the zombified Thunderstrike. Harvestman tells Marvel's new Sorcerer Supreme his business is "death's" and that he answers to "no mortal." Clea asks him to reconsider, while admitting she fought beside Thunderstrike before when he was in his more human form.
With Doctor Strange gone, Clea might be forced to choose between being the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth of the Dark Dimension, as her powers are consuming one another, making her a less effective. While holding both mantles might seem like an advantage, in this case, being the Sorcerer Supreme twice over is incredibly dangerous and will likely not just impact Clea's upcoming battle with the Harvestman, but more threats when her power conflicts are known.
