MSNBC anchor Craig Melvin has praised his wife as the “glue” of the family during an emotional goodbye of his personal segment on Thursday.
Craig confirmed his departure from MSNBC on March 14, but said goodbye to the show today.
During his emotional speech on Thursday, he called his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, “the glue that really keeps it all together.”
He said she’s “endured long days and short nights and last-minute travel.”
He also thanked his parents saying “my mom cultivated the curiosity… that landed me here.”
“My dad taught me hard work pays off. It’s not how you start but how you finish.”

“And thank you for letting me into your homes, your businesses, and your vehicles for an hour every day. I appreciate you seeing the value in journalism,” he said to his viewers.
Craig will remain on NBC’s Today as a news anchor and continue to co-host Today’s Third Hour at 9am on weekday mornings.
Craig’s wife Lindsey, an American journalist, currently works with Fox as a sports reporter and previously worked at WRC-TV for six years and at ESPN as a SportsCenter anchor.
She covered the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and she now focuses on covering NASCAR as well as doing some NFL sideline reporting.
Craig and Lindsay met after she returned from covering the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Craig was working at NBC4 at the time.
The pair immediately took a liking to one another and reportedly bonded over their love of live music and Whatchamacallit candy bars.
After keeping their relationship a secret for several months, the pair opened up about their romance and married three years later in Washington.
Craig and Lindsay have two children.
The two had their first child, a boy named Delano, in 2014.
They had their baby girl named Sybil Ann in 2016.
The couple chose their daughter’s name after referring to the baby as “Sibby,” short for a sibling, as a way for Delano to identify her.
The two told People that they fell in love with the name, and it eventually stuck.
The family now resides in Connecticut.
