Some new Hawkeye content could be making its way to Marvel's Avengers, according to the character's voice actor. This theoretical update would be part of a larger content push in the game, which has included new skins for Avengers like Thor.
Although the game had quite a tumultuous launch, Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix have added a bevy of new content in the form of additional characters, alternate skins, and mission bundles. Characters such as Black Panther have arrived in the game, bringing with them new moves, mechanics, and special abilities. Aside from Black Panther, the other major cross-platform characters to come to Marvel's Avengers have been the Clint Barton and Kate Bishop versions of Hawkeye, though these characters play very similarly. These characters were accompanied by the Hawkeye-centric Future Imperfect mission list, along with the Wastelands region. Beyond these major character additions, Marvel's Avengers also adds various improvements and tweaks.
Some more substantial content could be imminent, however, according to a post made by Hawkeye voice actor Giacomo Gianniotti. The post, which was subsequently shared by the Marvel's Avengers Updates Twitter account, shows Gianniotti inside a recording booth. The picture was accompanied by a text box stating that he had "just finished cooking up some more #Hawkeye for all [the] amazing @playavengers fans!"
Unfortunately, Gianniotti's post does not go into any further detail. However, it seems that the voice actor is sending a pretty clear message that more Hawkeye-related content will be coming to the game. This would line up with the game's broader initiative to deliver more content to its players-- potentially arriving around the same time as the Marvel's Avengers Thor: Love and Thunder crossover. Of course, nothing is confirmed yet, so fans will have to wait and see what this tease could mean for the future of Marvel's Avengers.
As for what this new Hawkeye content might look like, that is anyone's guess. Fans of Marvel's Avengers have been disappointed in the past by what they have considered to be mediocre or insubstantial add-ons for the live-service game, so it could be imperative for Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix to serve up some high-quality missions or valuable side activities for the sharp shot hero. Things do seem promising based on Gianiotti's post, though, as the actor would likely not be recording new lines of dialog for something minor like new cosmetics or skins. Whether Marvel's Avengers introduces a few new missions based on Hawkeye or an epic event will multiple different characters, hopefully, the game can stick the landing.
