A pair of newlyweds who spent their first night as a married couple in jail after a brawl broke out at their wedding are now living apart, it has been reported.
Claire and Eamonn Goodbrand were arrested alongside Eamonn’s brother and best man, Kieran, when their ceremony descended into violence hours after the couple tied the knot in Bathgate, West Lothian, in June 2019.
A scuffle erupted after Claire, 26, grabbed her 47-year-old mother by the hair before hitting her with a stiletto and putting her in a ‘choke hold’, a court heard earlier this week.
Eamonn, 33, who competes in boxing fights, and his brother joined in, severely injuring the partner of Claire’s mum by kicking and punching him, pushing their thumbs into his eyes, biting his head and body and holding his neck.
Kieran, 28, went on to assault another man at the reception, punching and kicking him on the head and body and leaving him injured.
CCTV footage from the waterfront venue reportedly showed the bust-up spilling out onto the lawn.
All three were remanded in custody in separate cells until they were brought before court the next day.
When they were released on bail, the bride was dressed in what appeared to be one of her honeymoon outfits while her groom sported a large plaster over an injury to the forehead.
The couple have been living in separate homes in recent months, according to MailOnline.
A neighbour told the news site: ‘They don’t live together no. They’re at separate addresses a few miles apart and have been for a while.
‘But they do still visit each other so it’s not clear what the state of the relationship is.’
Claire’s mum reportedly moved to another address and is refusing to see the couple, who were said to be unavailable for comment.
Claire, Eamonn and Kieran all pleaded guilty to assault and injury at Livingston Sheriff Court earlier this week.
A sentencing hearing will take place on April 29.
