YOUTUBE stars Shane Dawson and Ryland Adams have picked an egg donor as part of their ongoing journey to become parents.
The couple made the announcement in a YouTube video that chronicled their donor selection process, nearly two years after Dawson faced backlash for controversial comments from resurfaced clips.
Shane Dawson and Ryland Adams posted a video on YouTube this week chronicling the process of selecting an egg donor[/caption] The couple revealed in the video that they had picked their egg-donor[/caption]“We chose an egg donor. It was very strange to click purchase on our child’s mother,” Dawson said in the 35-minute video posted to Adams’s channel.
The video started with the pair speaking to the camera as they began the process of searching through the digital profiles of potential surrogates.
“We filmed the process, not for YouTube, but just for our kid when they’re 18 if they have a sense of humour they can laugh at it,” Dawson said.
They compared the process of finding a donor to the process of looking through dating profiles and said it was a weird experience.

“It’s a constant reminder that we can’t do it ourselves,” Dawson said.
“It’s weird for first timers.”
Later the video shows the pair in a car after they’ve made the final selection.
Dawson and Adams revealed they were pursuing parenthood in June 2021 and started actively working on the logistics at the beginning of this year.
The pair says they will eventually have two children, one for each of their sperm.
While their first baby may be months away, they said they have already made some headway on the names.
They have also already started thinking about whether they will feature their child on social media.
“The thought of us having a baby and then posting a picture with the baby in it and comments being mean, I don’t want my baby to grow up and see that,” Dawson said.
“No judgement to anyone that has their babies in their videos, I just feel like people hate me too much to risk people starting to hate my baby.”
Dawson has had a controversial career.
The YouTube pioneer became embroiled in controversy in June 2020 after making inappropriate gestures in front of a poster of then 11-year-old Willow Smith.

The Willow Smith dust up brought attention to racist and peadophilic jokes he had made previously.
Shortly after the June 2020 backlash, the YouTube star posted an apology for his comments and actions surrounding race and pedophilia.
“Blackface was something I did a lot — like, I did it a lot on my channel — and there’s no excuse for it. There’s literally no excuse,” he said.
Dawson apologized for his controversial comments about pedophilia and child pornography.
“I shouldn’t have been joking about it anyway. Which is my problem. My fault,” he said in the 2020 video titled “Taking Accountability.”
Dawson re-emerged from his cancellation in October 2021 with a YouTube video.
In the video he said was “embarrassed over a lot of stuff”.
The announcement follows a controversial few years for Dawson, who started posting videos on YouTube again this fall after more than a year-long hiatus[/caption]Do you have a story for The US Sun team?
