Miles Morales Has a Shocking Connection to New Spider-Verse Hero

The Spider-Verse's newest hero has a surprise connection to Miles Morales, as Spider-Man will soon find out the Spider-Smasher is actually his sister Billie from the future. In a new look at the Spider-Smasher, who will appear in the upcoming Miles Morales: Spider-Man #38, Marvel Comics revealed the hero's identity, her relationship to Spider-Man, and her important role in protecting the future Marvel Universe.
Earlier this year, Marvel Comics teased the arrival of the new hero Spider-Smasher, who was set to debut in Saladin Ahmed and Christopher Allen's upcoming arc of Miles Morales: Spider-Man. Originally showcased with the tagline, "Who is the Spider-Smasher? Are They Friend or Foe?", the futuristic hero stood out for their futuristic costume, which featured a red Spider-Man emblem on the chest. Now, readers are learning the true identity of Spider-Smasher: It's his sister Billie, but a version from the future.
Today, Marvel Comics revealed Spider-Smasher's identity in a new preview for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #38. The solicit reveals Spider-Smasher will play a key role in the upcoming interdimensional adventures of Spider-Man, as Miles Morales will encounter the grown-up version of his sister, Billie Morales. In the current run, Morales is just a baby in the present day. But, in Marvel's future, she will lead a rebellion in a timeline where his clone Selim was victorious. Check out the main cover of the series by Taurin Clarke, which hints at the reality Selim rules. Additionally, Marvel shared variant covers from Sergio Davila starring Spider-Man and Spider-Smasher, a spoiler cover from Skan, as well as a Skrull variant cover from Ernanda Souza.
Marvel Comics also shared Allen's design sheet for Spider-Smasher, which shows the futuristic hero and her high-tech gear. Spider-Man's sister looks pretty well-equipped to deal with her timeline's darkness with a minigun, spider-arm, and high-tech mask. The costume is superb, as she also showcases some staples from Miles' Spider-Man costume, including the spider logo. It will be fascinating to see Morales meet Billie in the future and fight alongside her to stop Selim - which shows the chaos of the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Smasher has an incredible design from Allen as she's a spider-hero with technology that would make Cable proud. Spider-Man's future sister will make their Marvel Comics debut in the upcoming Miles Morales: Spider-Man #38 by Saladin Ahmed and Christopher Allen, which arrives in comic book stores and online retailers on May 4, 2022.
