LEXINGTON — Kentucky football senior wide receiver Rahsaan Lewis was arrested early Sunday and charged with driving under the influence.
According to a Lexington Police Department arrest citation, Lewis accelerated his vehicle from the traffic light at High Street and South Upper Street in downtown Lexington so quickly it created a burnout with the tires. He then accelerated to a speed estimated to be around 65 mph in a 35-mph zone.
After catching up with Lewis and pulling him over, the officer reported Lewis appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test returned a blood alcohol content of .153, almost twice the legal limit (.08). Lewis was arrested at 3:32 a.m.

Lewis, who was also charged with reckless driving and improper start from a parked position, is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Lewis.
According to a statement released by a UK spokeswoman to the Courier Journal, the school is aware of the incident and "will continue to monitor the situation as it develops." Lewis participated in a spring football practice Tuesday morning open to the media.
Lewis, a walk-on, played in six games for Kentucky last season, tallying two catches for 4 yards. He returned one punt for 12 yards. Lewis previously played at Central Florida and South Florida before transferring to Kentucky in 2019.
