CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University softball team (13-5, 2-0 CCAC) opened Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) competition with a pair of wins over Indiana University South Bend at the SXU Softball Field Tuesday afternoon in Chicago, Ill. The Cougars used four home runs to take game one by a score of 12-6 and overcame a 2-0 deficit and hung on to win game two, 5-4. Junior outfielder Sarah Bowen (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) and junior infielder Morgan Haefling (Gilberts, Ill./Hampshire) led SXU. Bowne finished the day 3-for-5 with five RBI's, four runs scored, her first collegiate home run and a triple, while Haefling was 3-for-7 with four RBI's, two doubles, two runs and also belted her first collegiate home run.
