‘Lost 9 years off my life’ – Ryan Reynolds reacts as Wrexham score TWO added time goals in thrilling 6-5 win over Dover
RYAN REYNOLDS joked that he “lost nine years off his life” after watching Wrexham’s 6-5 victory Dover Athletic this afternoon.
The Hollywood superstar bought the club alongside fellow star Rob McElhenney last year, and the duo won’t have seen a more dramatic game than this one.
The National League promotion hopefuls raced into a 2-0 lead within the first 20 minutes at the Racecourse Ground – before an epic collapse.
Goals by George Wilkinson and Alfie Pavey were followed by a 12-minute Michael Gyasi hat-trick to put Wrexham 5-2 down with just 30 minutes to play
Dover then completed a remarkable collapse of their own in the closing stages… with the match finishing with the kind of twist that would’ve made Hollywood proud.
Ollie Palmer netted a quickfire double to reduce the deficit to 5-4 with 20 minutes remaining in this incredible match.

Jordan Davies then struck his side level in the 91st minute… with Dan Jarvis grabbing a 97th-minute winner to send promotion-hopefuls Wrexham second in the table.
At the conclusion of the breathtaking match, Reynolds wrote on Twitter: “I just lost 9 years off my life. And I’m OK with that.
“Apologies to my family. Also, bury me in Wales.”
The Dragons are 11 points behind league leaders Stockport County, albeit with a game in hand.

Today’s win gave them a 10-point cushion inside the play-off places.
Reynolds, 45, is clearly getting well into his new venture – having called football a “soul-annihilating curse” back in November after attending his first games in person.
He said: “I knew that this game was an emotional rollercoaster.
“What I learned in Maidenhead was that it was a curse. I thought for a moment that I wish I didn’t know this. You live and die and live and die again every other minute.
“As a measured person, I hate that kind of rollercoaster. Football is a beautiful, gorgeous, lovely, wonderful, soul-annihilating curse.”
