PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees Hockey Club is pleased to announce the commitment of forward Billy Norcross (’03) for the 2022/23 season.
Norcross, 19, comes to Penticton following his fifth season at Cushing Academy prep school, captaining the team for each of the past two seasons. The 6’2”, 181-pound forward played in 26 games with his prep school team this season, amassing 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points over that stretch.
The Lynn, Massachusetts native is a commit to Boston College following his junior hockey career while also being ranked at 201st by the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Bureau ahead of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
“Getting the chance to play for the Vees next year is an opportunity that I am lucky and thankful to get,” mentioned Norcross, “I’ve followed along with the Vees for a couple of years now and the winning culture, the players that the staff has produced and developed as well as the coaching is top notch. I’m excited to get going and contribute to the team and community of Penticton.”
The Vees would like to welcome Billy and his family to the organization, City of Penticton and the South Okanagan.
The final weekend of the regular season features a pair of home games for the Vees beginning on Friday night against the West Kelowna Warriors on Valley First Feed The Valley Night. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM before the Vees host the Merritt Centennials on their annual Awards Night on Sunday at 4:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to remain in their seats after the game for the handing out of the annual awards.
