Arsenal target ready for big summer transfer, with asking price set at £25m-plus

Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds target Noa Lang will not make a rushed decision on his future, with Club Brugge chasing “more than €30m” for the midfielder, claims a report.

Lang, 22, has already revealed his intention to move on, with Brugge ready to ‘cash in’, according to Het Belang van Limburg back in January. Voetbal 24 and De Standaard have also reported that Lang will move on, with the latter saying that Lang’s exit is a “forgone conclusion”.

The winger is under contract until 2025, but he is desperate to get into Holland’s Word Cup squad.

Lang only has three caps to date and time is running out of time to impress ahead of the Qatar tournament next winter.

A number of suitors have shown an interest in the player, namely Arsenal, Liverpool, Leeds and AC Milan.

Milan have been chasing the player since last summer and they remain in the picture, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. But claims they have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to land the player have not been verified in Holland.

The Italian outlet also mentioned a fee of €20m, which would represent a major bargain. Lang has 21 goal involvements, including eight goals, from 40 Brugge appearances this season.

 

And Het Laatste Nieuws, via Sport Witness, say a proposal from Milan of €20m plus bonuses, won’t be enough to land the player. Instead the Jupiler League club are chasing “more than €30m”.

Lang signed for Brugge for £5m

That price will not put off the English trio. Leeds and Arsenal tried to land the player in the last 12 months. While Liverpool have been linked with a move for Lang as they sound out potential replacements for Divock Origi, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

Leeds tried to sign Lang last summer, but they could not agree a fee with Brugge wanting a around the €24m mark.

That may seem reasonable now, but it represented a 400% increase in Brugge’s buying price.

He arrived on an initial loan from Ajax in 2020, with a “€6million obligation-to-buy agreement” which Brugge actioned in July last year.

Lang and his representatives will not rush into a hurried decision and possible moves to Germany, Italy or England are all on the table.

Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad claims the attacker wants to “make a top transfer” in the summer.
