David Beckham Turns Over Instagram to Ukrainian Doctor to Highlight Life-Saving Efforts
David Beckham is showing his support for Ukraine.
The 46-year-old soccer star announced over the weekend that he would be turning over his Instagram account to Dr. Iryna, the head of a regional perinatal center in Kharkiv.

David explained in a video posted to his account that he wanted to call attention to the “amazing work Iryna and health workers like her are doing to save lives in Ukraine.”
Dr. Iryna shared that she had been worked “24/7” since the Russian invasion began a few weeks ago.
“The first days were the most difficult. We had to learn how to work with bombings and strikes,” she said.
“We are probably risking our lives but we don’t think about it at all,” the doctor continued. “We love our work. Doctors and nurses here, we worry, we cry but none of us will give up.”
Dr. Iryna also recalled having to move all the pregnant women and mothers to the basement of the health center. “It was a terrible three hours that we spent together,” she said.
The BBC writes that David and his wife Victoria have donated over $1.6 million to UNICEF to support Ukraine.
