Target Specialty Products presents plant health webinar

The next Turf Fuel Master Class webinar from Target Specialty Products will be March 22 at 12 p.m. EST. This webinar will focus on how turf managers can optimize disease management solutions with a plant health approach.

“We are excited to provide this educational opportunity to Turf Managers who are in need of turf support and continuing education credits,” said David Helt, Target Specialty Products’ president.

Target Specialty Products and a panelist of turf experts will share different perspectives on plant health, utilization of biostimulants as well as plant protection and disease resistance to optimize turf management solutions. Continuing Education Credits will be provided in select territories.

Panelists include:

• Jim Kerns, Ph.D., associate professor and Extension specialist of turfgrass pathology at North Carolina State University. His research program focuses on understanding the biology of ultradwarf Bermudagrass diseases, large patch of Zoysiagrass, plant-parasitic nematodes in turf and diseases of creeping bentgrass. Currently, his program focuses on the movement of fungicides into root zones following post-application irrigation.
• Cameron Stephens, Ph.D., technical market manager for turf and ornamentals with BASF Professional and Specialty Solutions. He holds a Ph.D. in plant pathology from North Carolina State University, a M.S. in agronomy from Penn State University, and a B.S. in turfgrass science from The Ohio State University. He studied various topics related to turfgrass management, turfgrass pathology, fungicide resistance, and the environmental fate of fungicides on golf courses. At BASF, Stephens is responsible for helping steward new solutions to the turf and ornamental industry.
• Steve Loveday, product development manager in turf fuel foliar and soil nutrition with Target Specialty Products. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University and has worked in the golf industry for the past 25 years. He spent 9 years working in golf course management and maintenance prior to honing his skills in plant nutrition, biostimulation and plant defense activation.
