Bachelorette: Jesse Palmer Replaces Tayshia & Kaitlyn As Host
The announcement that The Bachelorette will have two leads next season caught Bachelor Nation by surprise, and it was also revealed that Jesse Palmer will continue his hosting duties and replace Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe. The way Jesse navigated Clayton Echard’s turbulent The Bachelor finale proved that he’s more than capable at the job, though many fans will miss Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams' energy.
For the past couple of years, the hosting of Bachelor Nation shows has been in a state of flux. Chris Harrison was the long-time host of the franchise. But after filming Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, he became embroiled in controversy after making racially insensitive comments and was ousted from his job. The next two seasons of The Bachelorette were hosted by former leads Tayshia and Kaitlyn, and they got a great response from viewers. However, when it came time to film Clayton’s season, former Bachelor Jesse Palmer took over the role of host, though fans weren’t sure how long he would remain in that role.
Bachelor Nation was stunned during "After the Final Rose" special when both Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia were announced as dual Bachelorettes, as reported by Variety, though there are some logistical questions about how their season will work. But one aspect that’s not in doubt is who will host because Jesse revealed he’ll be returning. “There could not be two better choices, two more deserving women to get this opportunity to find love,” Jesse said about Gabby and Rachel, and added, “I also can’t wait to be there with you and join you on your journeys to find love…I’ll be there. I’m so excited.” Gabby gave Jesse a high five, and both women and the audience seemed excited.
However, there are many fans in Bachelor Nation who are disappointed that Tayshia and Kaitlyn won’t be returning as hosts. The two women brought a fun dynamic to the show, and because they were once Bachelorettes themselves, Kaitlyn and Tayshia offered emotional support to leads Katie Thurston and Michelle Young. But Jesse also received positive feedback from viewers who felt he did a good job as the host of Clayton’s season. Though some fans are upset that Tayshia and Kaitlyn are being replaced, the two may have decided to step away from their hosting roles to pursue other career opportunities.
The upcoming season of The Bachelorette is going to steer Bachelor Nation into uncharted waters, and Jesse is confident that he’s the man who should be at the helm.
