Holby City finally confirms when show will end – and the legends who will return for final goodbye
HOLBY City has been gracing our screens for the past 23 years but will soon bid farewell.
BBC bosses have confirmed the date chosen for the medical drama‘s final episode – along with several character returns.
Holby City’s finale will be airing on Tuesday, March 29 at 7.50pm on BBC One.
In recent weeks, just as viewers observe with dread Jac Naylor’s (played by actress Rosie Marcel) fate unravel on their screens, many familiar faces have returned to Holby City.
The series’ final instalment will be no exception as TV bosses are also teasing major comebacks.
Several legends from Holby City’s past will be making an appearance in its last ever episode.

These include Chizzy Akudolu who will reprise her role as Mo Effanga, Hugh Quarshie aka Ric Griffin, Luke Roberts who will slip back into the role of Joseph Byrne and Jules Robertson who is otherwise known as Jason Haynes.
Holby City fans will also be getting a second serving of on-screen couple Serena Campbell and Bernie Wolfe as actresses Catherine Russell and Jemma Redgrave have vowed to come back for the finale, teasing an emotion-packed episode.

Serena and Bernie returned to the hospital for the first time back in February.
Tuesday night’s episode also featured the surprise returns of several characters from beyond the grave, while Jac was in hospital after her shocking fall during last week’s instalment.
The surgeon is still struggling to come to terms with her condition as her health continues to deteriorate due to a brain tumour.
Aside from her fight for her life, which leaves viewers suggesting she could be killed off, the Holby City ice queen is also battling to keep the hospital afloat.
What else can BBC One viewers expect from the show’s final farewell?
For now and until March 29, Holby City airs every Tuesday.
