Rudiger ‘agreed personal terms with Chelsea before sanctions’ and could now join rivals Man Utd in shock transfer
ANTONIO RUDIGER had agreed personal terms over a contract extension – but the deal is now off after the club was slapped with sanctions, according to reports.
The German defender, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season.
Chelsea had tried – and failed – to convince Rudiger to sign an extension for much of the season.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich were alerted to the potential free transfer this summer, with the centre-back already able to negotiate pre-contract terms with foreign clubs.
But BILD have now claimed Rudiger had finally agreed to STAY at Chelsea before sanctions scuppered the deal.

With Rudiger now seemingly certain to quit the club, BILD state Man Utd, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all keen to snatch up the German on a free transfer.
Despite seemingly having once been willing to offer the centre-back a £400,000-a-week deal, Bayern are not interested in Rudiger at the moment, according to the report.
And with United desperate to bolster their centre-back ranks after Harry Maguire endured another tough night on Tuesday, Rudiger could well swap Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford.
