Ginger Minj, the drag performer who gained fame on the reality series RuPaul's Drag Race, is set to make a cameo in the Hocus Pocus sequel.
Drag fans have something to look forward to in Hocus Pocus 2 now that a cameo from Ginger Minj has been revealed. Ginger Minj is a drag performer who gained fame as a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race season 7, where they were a runner-up. They later appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' second season in 2016 and sixth season in 2021, where they placed eighth and second respectively. Many know Minj as "the glamour toad," a self-described term they used during their run on Drag Race season 7.
EW confirmed that the Drag Race alum will make an appearance in Hocus Pocus 2, which releases later this year. Minj had previously been spotted on the set wearing a drag version of Winifred Sanderson's (Bette Midler) look, and the report states that they will be featured in a scene with two other drag performers who have yet to be revealed. The scene is said to be the Sanderson Sisters stumbling upon a drag show where the three performers are impersonating the sisters, and chaos ensues.
The news of Minj's involvement comes at the same time as an announcement that Thora Birch would not be returning as Dani for the sequel. While many fans are upset, and understandably so, they can hopefully take solace in the fact that such a talented performer will be making an appearance. And the inclusion of drag performances gives a hint at the direction that Disney is taking to bring the iconic sisters to the modern day in Hocus Pocus 2.
