The Boys: 10 Season 3 Fan Theories, According To Reddit
The much-awaited teaser for The Boys season 3 has just finally been released. The Amazon Prime Original show is set to return on June 3 of this year and the trailer has only boosted the excitement of the fans tenfold.
Meanwhile, fans have been coming up with several theories on Reddit on what the upcoming season will entail. Many of these theories revolve around Soldier Boy, the newest addition to the show played by Jensen Ackles and the most anticipated character introduction in the series.
According to a Reddit user, Independent_Year_6911, "Victoria Neuman is one of Vought's contingency plans against Homelander." Victoria Neuman was introduced in season 2 and she seemed to be against Vought. However, in the finale, she was revealed to be a Supe herself.
This user suggests that Victoria works for Vought and they are keeping her identity a secret to use him against Homelander if the need ever arises to stop him.
The Seven is down a member currently and fans have been speculating about who will be the newest member. While many fans have been saying that Soldier Boy can be the one to join the team, some fans have come up with an interesting theory.
A Reddit fan, Master_Meddler, talks about Jack From Jupiter "cameo or reference" season 3 and possibly the team. Another user, Recuring_Joke, backs them and says, "yeah it would be cool to see Jack from Jupiter as the sort of Translucent/Stormfront of season 3."
Since Jensen Ackles announced on his Instagram about joining the cast of The Boys as Soldier Boy in 2020, fans cannot contain their excitement. The Supernatural-alum has an immense fan following thanks to him playing Dean Winchester for 15 years. With his reunion with Kripke in The Boys, fans have been theorizing about his role in the show.
A Reddit user, preachyprofessor, shared many of his theories one of which is that "One of my theories is that the new guy, Soldier Boy, is going to be put against Homelander in a way where he’s the new star kid at Vought because he’s either back from the dead or the ice and the initial episodes are just Homelander going over the edge, ultimately making him do something irreparable."
An interesting theory to come from a fan on Reddit, racc15, is that "I think Frenchie will die at season 3. At points in the teaser trailer, we saw that MM and Hughie were very distraught."
They also point out, "It's been 3 seasons. I think they will kill a member of the team to show that stakes are high. Otherwise, the tension kind of decreases if we know that all 5 of them are immortal." Fans will certainly not be happy if this theory comes true because Frenchie is a fan-favorite character.
A religious group called Church of the Collective was introduced in season 2 that recruited The Deep and A-train to spread their word of God and they were promised a return to The Seven in exchange for that. While A-train was brought back into the Seven, The Deep was left behind. A Reddit user, DisloyalRoyal, suggests a theory, "I feel like The Deep might be the next head of the Church."
Another fan on Reddit fan, preachyprofessor, points out a funny observation, "That'll be wild. [The] first thing he'll do then is get rid of all the Fresca cans! Haha."
As an extension to the theory about who will join The Seven in this season, many fans theorize that it will likely be not Soldier Boy because he is supposed to be part of Payback (the Avengers-style team in The Boys universe).
The Redditor, Recuring_Joke, talks about the "I think there might be tryouts but I think just like in the comics he won't join them, he'll just be a part of Payback." Another fan, Bolshevikboy, "He's gonna lead payback, The Boys version of the Avengers. The Seven are more like Justice League."
Stormfront was almost killed by Homelander's son, Ryan, in the season 2 finale but she didn't completely die. So, whether she will return or not in the upcoming season is still a question in the minds of the fans. A Redditor, ashella, points out, "Aya Cash is credited on several episodes in season 3, so it seems she'll be around in some capacity."
Another Reddit user, Ochib, comments about Aya Cash being the in the third season speculating, "May well be flashbacks with Soldier Boy." It will certainly be interesting to see them interacting with each other in their past since Stormfront is a Nazi and Soldier Boy, a parody of Captain America, fought against Nazis.
Talking about the recent teaser in context, one user, robinsons_lsd says, "Butcher taking Compound V in the show will lead to the scene in the comic where he takes down payback single-handedly." This scene took place in The Boys comics and the user thinks that it may be adapted in the show as well, probably in the finale.
This sounds like an action-packed scene and if something like this takes place in the show, it will surely put fans on the edge of their seats. However, fans might want Soldier Boy to stick a little longer and not die in season 3 considering the craze for him at present.
In season 2, viewers saw A-train helping out the Boys in exposing Stormfront as a Nazi. A fan on Reddit, theBeanEmperor, talks about this having consequences for A-train in season 3. In their words, "I'm guessing what if Homelander finds out that A-train has been helping out the boys and then Homelander is going to punish him."
While it is hard to exactly predict what will happen but one thing is for sure if Homelander finds out that A-train has been helping The Boys, he will not be happy at all. Fans are well aware of what happens if Homelander is upset.
Another interesting theory about the show's big fights is given by KSTwolfe. According to them, "The Seven will end up slaughtering Payback, while The Boys themselves will end up taking out Victoria Neuman and whatever followers/goons she has aiding her."
This theory is well-received by other fans as the user, robinsons_lsd, replies, "it would be awesome at this point to just see anyone slaughter anything so I’m down."
