CoSIDA Academic All-America Men's Basketball Team
St. Ambrose forward/center Tom Kazanecki was named to the prestigious 2021-22 Academic All-America Men's Basketball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Kazanecki was named to the NAIA second team.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA institutions, who are selected based on the students' work on the court and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.
The 10-member NAIA team posted a 3.84 collective GPA.
Kazanecki, from Palos Heights, Ill., was named to the all-CCAC second team after averaging team highs of 18.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season. He shot better than 50 percent from the floor, including a 34-percent mark from beyond the ark. He wrapped up his Fighting Bee career with 1,049 points, good for 49th on the program's all-time scoring list, and 504 career rebounds.
Kazanecki is currently enrolled in SAU's Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.
