Antonio Conte refused to be dragged into the rumours surrounding Fabio Paratici’s future at Tottenham in his press conference this afternoon.
The Spurs boss claimed any questions over whether Paratici would be staying with Spurs had to be directed to the man himself as it would be disrespectful to talk on his behalf.
However, Conte was keen to point out that the managing director of football ‘wants to work well for Tottenham’ while he is at the North London club.
This comes after TuttoMercatoWeb reported last week that the PSG had Paratici on a list of possible targets as they look to replace their current sporting director, Leonardo.
Despite this, The Athletic reported that Paratici himself wants to remain in N17 and continue his Tottenham project, even if there is interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Italian only joined Tottenham last summer and recently pulled off two positive signings in the January market, with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur having a positive influence on the starting XI just weeks after joining.
Conte said (Football London): “Honestly, this question is a question for him not for me. I can’t speak for another person, I don’t know the thoughts of another person. This could be disrespectful to speak about another person.
“We are talking about someone who worked for 10 years at Juventus and worked very well and wants to work very well for Tottenham.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
This is a huge summer for Tottenham. With Paratici, Conte and Harry Kane, the foundations are there to kick on and make a big push next season. However, that needs funding from the club. Fall short of expectations and you may find three big names with one eye on the exit door.
