The 2023 Mini Cooper EV Does Not Care About Going After Tesla

Mini Cooper is now taking orders for its 2023 EV model that's been recharged with more power, speed and tech. The EV market has seen a certain standardization in terms of design and performance. Many brands, including BMW, Toyota, Ford, and Hyundai, are trying to compete with the leading EV seller, Tesla, creating models that look very similar in the process.

Besides the occasional disruptions, like those caused by the Mustang Mach-E or the Hummer truck, the EVs of today stick to traditional sedan, SUV and crossover designs. All brands also tend to offer similar power, speeds, charging times, and ranges, making it difficult for any EV vehicle to stand out from the rest. Originality, the need to be different, and personality, seem to be largely missing among modern EV designers.

The Mini Cooper all-electric 2023 hardtop two-door can now be reserved online. More importantly, it is clear that Mini Cooper is doing its own thing and not attempting to chase after Tesla. The Mini Cooper has always had personality and now its electric version has serious torque and speed to match. It's not only an impressive vehicle, but with a price starting at $29,900, it is also one of the cheapest EVs on the market.

The Mini Cooper is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise tense electrified car industry. Its personality remains true to its origin and essence, as it strips away the unnecessary while keeping an edge buyers would expect. After all, no one is going to race 200 miles per hour in a city, nor has the need to do 0 to 60 in 1.5 seconds. Over 400 miles of range also sounds amazing, but most drivers don't drive that much on a daily basis. In spite of the 2023 Mini Cooper EV disqualifying itself from any range-speed-battery races, it is still modern and relevant. Fully charged, the Mini can go 114 miles, and the company suggests drivers should stop worrying about charging in general. The Mini EV can charge up to 80% in 36 minutes, and has a network of more than 38,000 public charging stations. The Mini is also agile with 184 horsepower and 270 lb-ft torque.

With seating for four, a premium exterior, new wheels, redesigned front and back grills, LED highlights and Union Jack Tail lights for aerodynamic drive, the legend goes electric. Inside, ambient lighting, an updated and sleek modern dashboard, and a new steering wheel, are all combined with various driver assist and safety features. The company has even turned up the volume on its digital radio considering it is now equipped with Apple CarPlay. The bottom line is that the 2023 Mini Cooper EV is different, and that's a very good thing.
