Along with second- and third-place team finishes, St. Ambrose had multiple individuals earn Competitive Dance and Cheer All-American recognition. A total of five Bees were named to the All-America teams, the most from any one school.
Leading the way were Zoe Walrath and Morgan Pfohl, who each earned All-America honors for the third straight year.
Walrath, also an All-America honorable mention recipient in 2019, was joined on the eight-member Competitive Cheer All-America team by Alyssa Alberti and Sawyer Mackovitch. It is a repeat honor for both as Mackovitch was named to the team for the second straight year and Alberti returned after earning the honor in 2020.
For the third year in a row, Pfohl was named to the Competitive Dance All-America team. She was joined on the eight-person squad by Lynleigh Schram.
A total of five Bees earned All-America honorable mention. Austyn Goodale and Anna Thorson, herself an All-American in 2020, received honorable mention in competitive cheer, while on the dance side, Ally Olson, Hannah Schriner and Aly York earned the honor. Schriner, an All-American in 2020, has received honorable mention three times while York earned the award for the fourth straight year.
Athletes performed stunts at regional competitions and received scores based on the quality of their tryout. The competitors must accumulate a predetermined score in order to achieve All-America status. The All-America Teams were announced at the NAIA National Championships hosted by Concordia (Mich.) over the weekend.
