Max George says ‘these will be the times we look back on’ as seriously ill Tom Parker joins The Wanted bandmates onstage
MAX George has reflected on The Wanted’s greatest hits tour – which has seen his seriously ill bandmate Tom Parker take to the stage five times already.
The singer, 33, has shared a poignant photograph of screaming fans after completing a big chunk their Most Wanted show with Tom already.
Posting the shot on his Instagram account, Max wrote: “These will be the times we look back on.”
He added a white heart emoji to his emotional message.
Last week, Max and his fellow bandmates – Jay McGuinness, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes – were joined by Tom at the Bournemouth International Centre in Dorset.
The brave 33-year-old, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2020, was late coming on tour as he had been receiving a pioneering treatment in Spain.
Despite the treatment leaving him too weak to stand and needing a wheelchair, Tom has powered on and continued to join his best friends at every gig since then.
The lads will next perform to thousands at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday night.
This will be followed by a concert at Hull’s Bonus Arena on Wednesday before wrapping things up at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Thursday.
On Sunday, Tom was pictured backstage in Manchester as he rested under a blanket with a beer.
Having now returned to London ahead of The Wanted’s O2 gig, Tom has managed rest in the comfort of his own home with his wife Kelsey and their children Bodhi, two, and one-year-old Aurelia.

Tom, who has stage four grade four glioblastoma, has previously said he is shocked at the lack of treatment and funding for cancer patients in the UK.
A chemotherapy drug called Temozolomide has for 20 years been the standard NHS treatment for glioblastoma patients.
But treatments he has recently received at a private facility in Spain also includes time in an oxygen machine, massages and a special diet.
