Indie games bundle raises more than $1.5 million for Ukraine relief

The latest bundle from Itch.io offers nearly 1000 video games, tabletop RPGs, books, and more, with all proceeds going towards Ukraine relief efforts.

On Monday, the Bundle for Ukraine went live on the platform as part of an initiative organized by over 700 video game developers. There are about 600 video games, 300 tabletop RPGs, along with loads of comics, books, and plenty more — all of which can be yours for a $10 minimum donation. Thus far, the bundle has raised over $1.5 million.

“The people of Ukraine are under attack. As game developers we want to create new worlds, not to destroy the one we have,” reads the bundle’s description. “That’s why we’ve banded together to present this charity bundle to help Ukrainians survive this ordeal and thrive after the war ends.”

The bundle’s page states that donations will be shared between the International Medical Corps and Voices of Children. The former provides medical relief within Ukraine, while the latter works with Ukrainian children suffering from wartime trauma and PTSD.

The Bundle for Ukraine will be available until Friday, March 18, 2022.

Itch isn’t the only organization within the games industry aiding the people of Ukraine. Last week, The Pokémon Company donated $200,000 towards humanitarian relief efforts in the country, and id Software co-founder John Romero is also raising money by releasing new Doom 2 content.
