Both on screen and off, several MonsterVerse Titans have already fallen to Godzilla. Over the years, Legendary's MonsterVerse has introduced over 20 Titans that exist on Earth. Quite a few have successfully avoided direct conflict with the King of the Monsters, while others have welcomed a fight with him.
The large number of Titans that dwell somewhere on the Earth has kept Godzilla busy across three MonsterVerse movies. Just since 2014, he's had to rise up out of the ocean depths multiple times to defend the natural order from a new threat. But of course, not all of Godzilla's battles occurred in recent memory. Unlike the many versions of Godzilla that appear in Toho's movies, Legendary's take on the iconic kaiju is an ancient beast who has roamed the Earth for thousands - if not millions - of years. Because of the time he's spent both in the Hollow Earth and on the surface, Godzilla has racked up a number of impressive victories in the MonsterVerse's history.
Time and time again he's had to defend his crown as the King of the Monsters and safeguard the planet from Titans that would upset the balance of nature. Godzilla's ability to do this can be attributed to his unsurpassed power and strength. Thus far, only one of his onscreen opponents - Mechagodzilla - has managed to best him in combat, although this loss was likely a result of extreme fatigue. Everyone else, on the other hand, hasn't fared so well. Here's every Titan Godzilla has beaten in the MonsterVerse.
Thousands of year before his epic confrontation with the King of Skull Island in Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla went up against Kong's ancestors. In an event now known as the Titan War, members of both species battled each other in the MonsterVerse's hidden Hollow Earth world. The reveal that Kong's kind abandoned their original home and fled to Skull Island strongly implied that they were driven out by Godzilla. An old legend in the Godzilla vs. Kong novelization confirmed that Godzilla did indeed win the Titan War. Apparently, the Kongs attacked him first, thinking he was an "evil" monster. Godzilla in turn, forced them to retreat to the surface.
After decades of inactivity, Godzilla revealed himself to humanity in the 2014 film to hunt the male and female MUTOs and stop the pair from reproducing. As a species that killed one of Godzilla's ancestors centuries ago, the MUTOs are regarded as an ancient enemy of the Titan and his kind. Together, the two were formidable adversaries for Godzilla, but help from the humans gave Godzilla the chance he needed to overcome them. By splitting up, the MUTOs made themselves vulnerable. In a one-on-one battle, the flying MUTO was little more than a nuisance to Godzilla, who killed him with a well-timed tail smack. In one of the MonsterVerse's most memorable moments, Godzilla slew the female MUTO with his now-famous "Kiss of Death" move.
Shortly after beating the two MUTOs, Godzilla had an encounter with a more powerful member of their species. Godzilla: King of the Monsters prequel graphic novel Godzilla: Aftershock revealed a battle between Godzilla and MUTO Prime, a creature that managed to challenge Godzilla's might without help from another. They fought for a while, but Godzilla eventually gained the upper hand. When she was pressed against his back, Godzilla blasted her off with the energy from his spikes, and then finished her off with a head-stomp.
In the MonsterVerse, Godzilla has triumphed at least three times over King Ghidorah (if not more). One of their earliest fights was a few millennia in the past. Near the Hollow Earth entrance in Antarctica, Godzilla defeated Ghidorah, and left him frozen in the ice. They fought again in the same place at the beginning of King of the Monsters, though the battle was inconclusive. But the same can't be said for their showdown in Mexico where the advantage Godzilla gained from fighting in the water enabled him to bite one of Ghidorah's heads. If it wasn't for American intervention, Godzilla would have defeated Ghidorah for good. Instead, he had to wait until the end of the movie to finish the fight.
The rematch at Boston handed Godzilla one of his most challenging battles. Due to a substantial power-up he received from an electrical grid, Ghidorah overpowered Godzilla and almost killed him. It was only Mothra's sacrifice and the energy that transformed him into "Burning Godzilla" that allowed him to prevail in the end with his nuclear pulses.
When Ghidorah went down, five nearby Titans bowed down to Godzilla and accepted him as their new alpha. Their decision was a sign of both respect and fear, as they all seemed to realize that Godzilla was superior to them. One of these Titans, though, gained enough confidence to challenge Godzilla two years later in Godzilla vs. Kong prequel graphic novel Godzilla: Dominion. Scylla, the six-legged insect Titan, was visited by Godzilla when the former was making trouble with the humans over a nuclear bomb. Scylla's hunger for its radiation motivated her to stand up to the alpha. Unfortunately for her, she lacked the physicality to match up with Godzilla for long and was forced to escape.
Scylla was one of three Titans to get out of line after King of the Monsters' ending. The second was Amhuluk, a swamp-dwelling, tree-like monster whose name was seen on a monitor screen in King of the Monsters. After trying to drive Behemoth out of the Amazon rainforest in Dominion, Amhuluk was abruptly attacked by Godzilla, who took Behemoth's side. Quickly recognizing Godzilla's power, Amhuluk immediately surrendered.
Like Amhuluk, Tiamat is one of King of the Monsters' 11 missing Titans. In Dominion, the giant sea serpent turned out to be the resident of a secret underground lair previously occupied by a Kong ancestor. The presence of a Kong skull hinted that Tiamat killed him and took over his home. After Godzilla's arrival, a fight ensued. Surprisingly, Tiamat actually proved to be a powerful foe for Godzilla, who had to put forth some serious effort to win. After moving the fight out of the water and onto land, Godzilla overwhelmed Tiamat, who then submitted.
Godzilla's last two victories in the MonsterVerse were against the same enemy. In Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla demonstrated his dominance, not once, but twice. After beating him into exhaustion on an aircraft carrier, Godzilla engaged in a vicious confrontation with his rival in Hong Kong. With the help of an axe made from Godzilla's dorsal fins, Kong made things difficult for the King of the Monsters at times, but was unable to emerge the victor. For all his intelligence and agility, he just couldn't hold out against Godzilla, who was clearly the stronger of the two. After several minutes of resistance, Kong finally stopped fighting back. With Godzilla standing atop him and roaring triumphantly, it could no longer be denied that he was the Titans' true alpha.
