Former The Bachelor lead Colton Underwood says he and fiancé Jordan C. Brown do not plan on signing a prenup after getting engaged last month. Colton and Jordan began dating in September 2021, just five months after Colton announced that he was gay on Good Morning America. Fans of the ABC dating series were shocked by the revelation seeing as he was previously in a relationship with Cassie Randolph, who he met on The Bachelor, for more than a year.
However, Colton didn't receive positive feedback for coming out as he hoped. A few months before he came out, Cassie filed a restraining order against Colton. In the court documents, Cassie claims Colton was stalking her outside of her apartment, at her parent's house in Southern California, and even alleging he placed a tracking device on her car. However, Cassie later dropped the restraining order as she and Colton came to some type of agreement.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen (via ET Canada), Colton was asked whether or not he and his fiancé Jordan plan on signing a prenup. "We’ve already had this conversation. We’re in it for the long haul," the 30-year-old said to the late-night host. "I know you guys have opinions on prenups, but [...] we don’t want to put those vibes out there." After coming back from a commercial break, Andy revealed that social media was outraged by Colton saying he doesn't plan on getting a prenup. However, the reality star didn't seem to care and shrugged off the critics. The conversation turned more positive, focusing more on Colton and Jordan's future wedding plans. Colton admitted that he wants a big wedding now that the COVID-19 pandemic is subsiding.
However, it may be difficult for him and Jordan to find a venue, seeing as many couples who had were scheduled to get married in 2020 and 2021 had to postpone it for 2022. "It’s what — three years backed up now because of COVID?" Colton said. "I want a good wedding. We need a venue, and venues are backed up. We’re [going big]." Andy also asked more questions about Jordan, a 39-year-old political strategist. The Bachelor alum revealed that Jordan was the one to pop the question and opted to wear matching necklaces instead of engagement rings. As for what Colton's parents think of Jordan, the former football player says they have been nothing but supportive of his romance. While the engagement happened fairly soon after their first date, Colton, who's on Beyond The Edge, admitted that he knew Jordan was the one right away based on their instant connection.
Since coming out almost a year ago, Colton has been living his true authentic self and was able to find the love of his life. Even though The Bachelor alum is getting married without a prenup after only being in a relationship for six months, Colton has no doubt in his mind that Jordan is his forever person.
