UFC legend Joe Rogan reveals why Justin Gaethje is ‘a dangerous fight’ for returning Conor McGregor after leg break
CONOR MCGREGOR has been warned a grudge match with UFC star Justin Gaethje is a ‘dangerous fight’ for his return.
The Notorious is targeting a showdown with the winner of Gaethje’s upcoming bout with lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in May.
But UFC commentator Joe Rogan reckons The Highlight’s notoriously vicious and accurate leg kicks would spell bad news for McGregor, who is still recovering from the horrific broken leg he suffered last year.
During a recent chat with former middleweight champ Michael Bisping, Rogan said: “If Gaethje beats Oliveira, Gaethje vs Conor is a dangerous fight for Conor.
“Because who kicks your legs better than Gaethje?
“His leg kicks are some of the best in the game and he also is a great wrestler too.
“Gaethje will kick your leg from inside a tie-up (wrestling clinch).”
The prospect of McGregor getting a title shot on the back of consecutive defeats has caused outrage in the MMA community.
But UFC supremo Dana White defended potentially putting the Irishman in a title fight upon his return.

He told The Underground: “The problem is, every time I do a f***ing interview, all anybody wants to ask is, ‘You think Conor McGregor will get a f***ing title shot?’
“That’s all they f***ing ask.
“So, I’m gonna say, ‘Well Conor McGregor isn’t anywhere near coming back yet, so I don’t know, let’s see what happens…’
“And anybody who’s p****d off because Conor might f***ing get (a title shot), you’re a f***ing idiot too.
“If that p****s you off, Jesus Christ. Calm down, buddy.”
McGregor, 33, has made a quicker than expected recovery from the broken leg he suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last year.
And the pride of Dublin is hoping to return to the octagon in the summer, telling Seconds Out: “I would like [to return at] International Fight Week. But we’ll see, though. I’ve got to take it day by day.
“April they said I’d be back sparring, back twisting and turning. I was told I could box a couple of months back and then all of sudden, I couldn’t box.
“So I’m just taking it day by day, there’s no rush. I’m in a great place mentally.
“Physically, I feel strong, I feel energetic. I’m always eager to get in an fight, so [I’ll] just take it day by day and it’ll happen.
“It will happen when the Lord wants it to happen.”
