My kids haven’t spoken to me since the divorce – should I give up trying?

I’m a man of 55 and my ex-wife is 52. We split up 15 years ago, when the children were young.
We didn’t have an amicable break-up and, though I sent cards and money for the kids’ birthdays, their mother always badmouthed me.
I’ve moved on with my life – I’ve been with a girlfriend for five years now and she’s 45. She’s wonderful.
