Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty five minutes of action against Everton.
Tottenham head into the break 3-0 ahead against Frank Lampard’s side with a solid display against an Everton side who look short of ideas.
Hugo Lloris: Has been a spectator for the first half. 6.
Matt Doherty: Laid the ball on a plate for Son only to see the South Korean unable to beat Pickford. Should have teed up Kulusevski, rather than taking a shot on goal from a right angle but made it for it with a delightful pass for Kane’s goal. 8.
Cristian Romero: Picked up his expected yellow card. Did well to head away Van der Beek’s cross for Richarlison just before the break. 7.
Eric Dier: Has been solid in the middle of defence, has handled Calvert-Lewin well. 7.
Ben Davies: Stepped up well to allow Sessegnon the space to drive forward on the left for the opening goal 7.
Ryan Sessegnon: Brilliant work in the build-up for Keane’s own goal. Growing in confidence but needs to be careful with his defensive positioning. Went down seconds before the whistle, hopefully not the start of another injury issue. 7.
Rodrigo Bentancur: A much welcome return to the midfield for the Uruguayan, has shown some nice touches and pressed when needed. 7.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Looks more reassured alongside Bentancur, but still needs to improve his passing. 7.
Dejan Kulusevski: Played a neat through ball to tee up Son for his goal. 7.
Heung-min Son: Found the space to bury Tottenham’s second partly down to Pickford’s questionable goalkeeping. Should have had a second when released by Doherty 7.
Harry Kane: Linked well with Kulusevki for Son’s goal. Was inches away from a goal himself when his effort following Son’s effort went wide of the post but got the goal he deserved eight minutes before half time. 8.
