Ben Rathbun called out 90 Day Fiancé viewers who are posting nasty comments on his girlfriend Mahogany Roca’s Instagram. Ben, a 52-year-old man from Michigan, is currently in a small town called San Bartolo on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days to meet his online partner, Mahogany, for the first time. Ben and Mahogany had been chatting for three months, during which the Fraser resident connected with the law student over their love for Jesus. Ben didn’t think twice before following God’s plan to marry Mahogany. For this to happen, Ben has ignored all the red flags seemingly proving Mahogany is a catfish, such as her photos with heavy filters, her unusual name, lying about her age or the fact that she’s calling a rental her own home.
The Mahogany that showed up during her date with Ben, after ghosting him for 24 hours since his arrival in Peru, looked nothing like the girl in her edited photos. Mahogany spoke fluent English when Ben claimed they had a language barrier. Even her Spanish accent seemed odd to fans, who saw clear signs of her not being comfortable around Ben, her boyfriend of three months. The big reveal of Mahogany on 90 Day Fiancé seemed so artificial that many fans decided she’s an actor, if not a TLC intern who’s been asked to play the role of Mahogany who Ben was talking with but never showed up. The twists and turns of Ben and Mahogany’s storylines became all the more menacing when it was revealed that Mahogany told Ben she was 24 when, in reality, she’s 22. Plus, Ben himself was sure that the apartment Mahogany was staying in definitely wasn’t hers.
Fans have certainly not been impressed by Mahogany’s list of lies on 90 Day Fiancé, which has led to some of them roasting her in her Instagram comments. This criticism has left Ben noticeably fuming as he made a new Instagram post about it. Ben shared what looks like a recent selfie with his girlfriend and wrote that Mahogany, whose last name “Roca” means rock, is a “beautiful, mature, wise and incredibly kind woman” with the purest heart. “The waves of ignorance and hate continue to pound her daily, but she continues to smile. Her will and beautiful soul are indomitable,” Ben added. A 90 Day Fiancé viewer posted a comment saying, “'The waves of ignorance and hate’? Lol I know it’s edited (and probably very scripted) but you yourself talked about how her actions and the situation were ‘weird’”
Former pastor and religious cult member Ben replied to them with, “weird shouldn’t equate to the reactions of hate she is getting,” before asking the fan to check Mahogany’s page. Meanwhile, Ben himself is getting his share of taunts from fans after the huge age gap of 30 years between him and Mahogany came to light in a recent episode. Ben said that Mahogany is as old as his oldest daughter, supposedly the one who refused to be on the show with the rest of his children. Fans aren’t hesitating from letting their opinions about Ben and Mahogany be known to him as they’re sharing comments such as, “Even after you found out her age. ????????. Unfollow! ????” and “I think [he's] creepy you can['t] go for girls that young.”
That being said, Ben and Mahogany’s relationship is just getting started on 90 Day Fiancé. There might be more layers of the real Mahogany that need to be peeled off for Ben to find out why she’s going on lying about her life to him. Although it doesn’t make sense at the moment, Mahogany is currently with Ben, as noted by a fan who spotted them at a mall in Peru. Meanwhile, Mahogany also asked fans to be patient and keep watching 90 Day Fiancé, so the truth may not be so far-fetched.
