The Cougars defeated Lawrence Tech University (Mich.) 8-1 in game one, behind a five-RBI performance by junior infielder Morgan Haefling (Gilberts, Ill./Hampshire). SXU than took down University of South Carolina-Beaufort 10-4 in game two; with a seven-run fourth inning, highlighted by a Grand Slam by senior catcher Brittany Schultz (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central).
