Spurs player ratings: Harry Kane and Matt Doherty brilliant in thumping of Everton

Tottenham thrashed Everton 5-0 to move within three points of fourth place in the Premier League on Monday evening.

A Michael Keane own goal got Spurs going before Son Heung-min and Harry Kane made things comfortable, all before half-time.

Kane grabbed another after the break and substitute Sergio Reguilon put extra gloss on the scoreline to secure a memorable win for the hosts.

Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the night.

Hugo Lloris, 7 – Didn’t have any difficult saves to make. Some useful claims and catches.

Cristian Romero, 6 – Mostly composed if a little rash at times. A booking meant he was subbed off early in the second half.

Eric Dier, 8 – The standout defender as he so often is nowadays. Absolute dominant, though hardly threatened.

Ben Davies, 7 – A comfortable night for the Welshman who played his part in the build-up down the left.

Matt Doherty, 9 – His best performance for Spurs by a mile. His two assists, both for Kane, were perfectly weighted passes.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 7 – Broke up plenty of Everton attacks and got the hosts going on the counter a few times.

Rodrigo Bentancur, 8 – Does the basics so well. And crucially Spurs move the ball forward more quickly when he plays.

Ryan Sessegnon, 7 – An excellent assist for the opener. A bit sloppy on the ball before an injury saw him hooked at the break.

Dejan Kulusevski, 8 – A constant threat down the right and kept running for 90 minutes. Tidy assist for Reguilon’s goal.

Son Heung-min, 7 – Still a little scruffy with his final ball but ultimately he scored and contributed well in the final third.

Harry Kane, 9 – Another talismanic performance from the main man. Unerring finishing for both goals and just generally great.

Substitutes

Sergio Reguilon, 8 – Made an instant impact, scoring within 40 seconds of his introduction.

Davinson Sanchez, 7 – Came on for Romero and had a good 40 minutes.

Steven Bergwijn, N/A – Threatened through the middle but couldn’t make his chances count.
