Sentinels can carry four weapons in Babylon's Fall, and there are five different types to choose from. Babylon's Fall has shields, rods, swords, hammers, and bows. There's a light attack and heavy attack slot as well as two spectral attack slots, which use the Gideon Coffin in Babylon's Fall to perform powerful attacks. With various possible combinations, it can be difficult to decide which weapons to use and what slots to put them in.
Taking some time to adjust the Sentinel's loadout before each quest can save players a lot of time, especially in later levels where elemental damage matters. From the Volcanic Cloister and on, enemy weaknesses will be displayed in the quest information. Using elemental weapons that enemies are vulnerable to will make completing quests easier. Unfortunately, once a quest starts in Babylon's Fall, there's no way to change the armor or weapons equipped to the Sentinel.
Although Sentinels can use any type of weapon in any slot, there are a few options that work best. Loadouts may change a little when playing with friends in Babylon's Fall, but generally, it can stay the same for solo or multiplayer quests. The optimal loadout will depend somewhat on which playstyle is being used. For example, players that want to deal the maximum amount of damage likely won't be using a shield at all. There are also different loadout combinations depending on what type of quest is being attempted and whether players prefer ranged attacks, melee attacks, or a balance of the two.
For the most balanced loadout that deals a lot of damage, players should use a sword for light attacks, a bow for heavy attacks, and a hammer and rod for spectral attacks. Weapons can be found, purchased, or crafted in Babylon's Fall. Swords will hit quickly, which can be helpful if players have any health or SP regeneration per hit abilities. Swords can also be used in the spectral attack slots, but they won't deal as much damage as hammers or rods, and they may drain the SP gauge too quickly because of how frequent the attacks can be.
Bows are good ranged weapons that can be charged to deal more damage per hit. Having a bow in the heavy attack spot will still allow players to shoot fairly quickly while dealing more damage than if it was in the light attack slot. Bows can also be used in the spectral attack slots, but they generally won't do as much damage or hit as quickly as rods and hammers in those slots. While more melee-focused players may not want to have a bow at all, many of the mini-bosses and bosses in Babylon's Fall can warp, so having a backup ranged attack is recommended.
Hammers are good for dealing damage in pretty much any weapon slot, but they are most useful in the spectral attack slot. Rods can also be used in one of the spectral attack slots to deal a large amount of damage on the first hit. There are some variations that can be more useful for different playstyles. For example, heavy-hitters may want two hammers in the spectral attack slots, while ranged attackers may want a mix of only rods and bows. In general, a light attack sword, heavy attack bow, and spectral attack hammer and rod make for the best loadout in Babylon's Fall.
